MVRDV's Carbon Confessions (ENDING)

As the climate crisis intensifies pressure on the construction industry to cut carbon emissions, Carbon Confessions offers a candid look at what that rethink looks like in practice. This travelling exhibition draws on more than three decades of MVRDV's work, sharing lessons from experiments, milestones, and missed opportunities in the firm's ongoing quest for carbon reduction.

Making its first North American stop in Toronto, the exhibition is tailored to local context, engaging with the Toronto Green Standard and MVRDV's Canadian projects. Structured as a research-led journey, it explores themes like adaptive reuse, material experimentation, and digital tools — and was itself built with repurposed materials to minimize waste.

Beyond a static display, the space doubles as an event venue hosting talks and discussions, inviting visitors into an open dialogue on carbon in the built environment.
