IDS Vancouver 2026 (Preview): What to See on the Show Floor

IDS Vancouver 2026 brings together Canada’s leading architects, interior designers, makers, manufacturers, and design enthusiasts for four days of exhibitions, installations, keynote talks, and networking.
From September 24 to 27 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, the event will showcase the latest trends in architecture, interiors, furniture, lighting, and materials, with a mix of local talent and international ideas. Highlights this year include the Central Bar installation, an entrance feature by STARK, an outdoor landscape piece, and a fresh take on the future workplace.
The award-winning firm STARK returns to IDS Vancouver to design this year’s entrance feature, Reflection. As soon as guests walk in, this display immediately anchors the vibe for the rest of the experience.

Synthesis Design, working with natural materials:wood and Western Forest Products, created the 2026 Central Bar to celebrate British Columbia’s forestry industry. Built entirely from BC wood, its 12' interlocking arches stand out above the crowd, turning the main gathering spot into a real-life example of modern mass timber design.

Landscape architect Andrew van Egmond from Designing Landscape is presenting a new outdoor installation. It examines circularity, climate adaptability, and how modern architecture connects with nature.

How We Work, now in its second year, invites leading design firms to reimagine the future of the workplace with creative, hands-on installations. This year, Kasian and Pavillion are the featured teams, and Reotech Construction is building the installation.
The keynote stage at IDS Vancouver is always a highlight, and this year’s lineup is just as impressive. Attendees can look forward to talks by Michael Sørensen, Global Market Director at Henning Larsen; Mandy Farmer, Chair of Hotels Canada and CEO of Accent Inns Inc.; and Nancy Bendtsen of Inform Interiors. Tommy Smythe and Kelly Deck will have a live conversation, May Globus will record episodes of The Craft in front of an audience, and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh artist and designer James Harry will share insights based on local heritage. It’s not often you see such a wide range of voices at one design event in a single weekend.
